Addressable DetectionSensorX™ series accessories:SensorX™ Conventional to Addressable detector unit
The SensorX™ conventional to addressable detector unit
allows any conventional detector to interface to an addressable panel,
which uses the Meter bus protocol used by many fire/security panel manufacturers.
This unit allows loop in and loop out connection, and detector connection. It can be used to maintain proven and tested conventional detectors on an addressable system, or to interface conventional detectors in part of a building, the rest of the building could be expanded to addressable detectors. The size of the unit is 18mm by 45mm, which allows for an easy interface and connection. In a normal state the analogue value of a unit is 16. If the detector is removed or is in a fault condition the analogue value is 4. If the detector is in a fire condition the analogue value is 64. SensorX™ Addressable Single Input/Output Unit The Everday addressable single input / output unit is compatible with a version of the Everday protocol used by several fire / security panel manufacturers, which allows the connection of normally open switch/s connected to a single pair of cables, and provides an output change-over contact. It is set to return an analogue value of 4 in the event of an open or short-circuit fault and 16 during normal operation. The status of this monitored input is reported by means of input 0, and a local LED. An output change-over relay contact is provided which is operated by output bit 0, a local LED indicates relay operation, this output can be used to control ancillary equipment. This unit is normally used to signal alarm or fault situations in machinery or other alarm situations, and controlling ancillary equipment, by means of the fire detection system. The input status is visualised locally by a red LED, where this will signal a normal state condition (LED on), or switch open or short-circuit condition (LED off). The relay operation is visualised locally by also by a red LED, where this will illuminate when the relay is operated. The power to operate the relay can be loop-powered, or from an external supply which is optically isolated from the detection loop. The units DC voltage is 17-28V dc with protocol voltage of 5-9V. When output bit 0 is set to logic 1 the relay changes state to the set condition and the relay operated LED will illuminate. The relay will remain latched until output bit 0 is set to logic 0. Input bit 0 is used to report the status of the monitored switch input which accepts a 4.7K ohms end of line resistor. During normal operation input bit 0 is set to 1, the analogue value is 16, and the input status LED is on. In the event the switch is open or closed input bit 0 is set to 0, the analogue value is 4, and the input status LED is off.
